Download & Install OLI Software for the First Time - Trial

How to download and install OLI software for the first time with a trial license. Error messages associated with trial software are listed at the bottom of the article.

Overview

Ensure you are installing the latest version of OLI software. You can download the software at downloads.olisystems.com.

To activate OLI software as a trial user, you will need a serial number, which will be sent to you from OLI in a text license file. The trial period lasts for 30 days from the date of installation.

Note: OLI software with a trial license can only be installed on an individual's computer one time. No trial extensions are possible. Attempting to backdate your computer (change the date and time to reflect a date in the past) will result in the software locking. Please contact OLI Support for more information.

Installation

Once the installer is downloaded, right-click, and select Run as administrator.

In the End-User License Agreement screen, select the “I accept the terms in the License Agreement” radio button, and then click Next >

Enter your name, organization, and serial number in the next screen shown below, and then click Next >

Under Choose Setup Type, select Typical and click Next >

Then click Install.

After the installation is complete, click Finish.

Make sure to restart your computer after installation.

Now, open the OLI application. If you see the splash screen, your installation/activation was successful.

Error messages associated with trial licenses:

Security provider failed to initialize. Login Error: HASP Error(41): The feature is expired

This error indicates that your trial has expired.

Security provider failed to initialize. Login Error: HASP Error(45): System time has been tampered

This error indicates that the system date and time was changed by the user toward the past.
