Objective
This guide explains how to enable and display optional calculation properties like Gibbs Free Energy, electrical conductivity, and scaling induction times within OLI Studio: Stream Analyzer.
Disclaimer: The user interface, calculations, and results displayed in this article are from OLI Studio Version 12.0. Other software versions may appear different due to continual developments to the software.
Enabling Optional Calculation Properties
- Add a Stream
- Add a Single Point or Survey calculation.
- Select the “Specs” window.
- For a Single Point Flash:
- The Calculation Options window appears automatically.
- The Calculation Options window appears automatically.
- For Surveys:
- Select the “Calculation Options” category in the menu.
- Select the “Calculation Options” category in the menu.
- Alternate Method:
- Navigate to the Menu Bar > Tools > Options > Calculation Options category.
- This also applies to ScaleChem users who want to access ScaleChem Calculation Options.
- For a Single Point Flash:
- Enable Desired Properties
- Check all the optional properties you would like to calculate.
- Click “OK” to apply these changes.
- Run the Calculation
Displaying Optional Calculation Properties
- Using the Report Tab
- Select the “Customize” button.
- Check the properties you would like to view and press OK.
- Use the “Jump To” feature in the Report to quickly navigate to a property.
- Select the “Customize” button.
- Using the Output Tab

- For Single Point Calculations:
- Select “Output” on the bottom-left of the Definition tab.
- For Surveys:
- Select a calculation step number from the Definition tab.
- For Single Point Calculations:

- Then, right-click anywhere on the gray workspace. Hover over “Sections” and select the property of interest.
