Restoring Default View in OLI Software (Restoring Missing Panes or Libraries)

In some instances, you may find that a pane or library within your OLI software has disappeared. Fortunately, there are simple methods to restore the default view and regain access to missing panes or libraries.

Restoring Default View with Shift + Open

The quickest way to restore the default view across all OLI programs is by using the Shift + Open method. This will reset the interface to its default configuration:

  1. Save any progress in your current work.
  2. Close the OLI program.
  3. Hold the Shift key.
  4. While holding Shift, reopen the OLI program.

This action will automatically restore the default layout, bringing back any missing panes or libraries.

Resetting Configuration in the OLI Studio Menu

For OLI Studio users, there is an additional option to reset the layout through the configuration management settings. However, please note that this will delete your current configuration file, and any customizations, such as specific units, may be lost.

  1. Go to Tools > Options
  2. Under Configuration Management, press the Reset button.

Resetting Layout in the OLI Flowsheet: ESP Menu

In OLI Flowsheet: ESP, you can restore the default layout through a similar process:

  1. Navigate to Tools > Options.
  2. Under Reset Workspace, press Reset Layout and Restart.

Conclusion

These methods allow you to easily restore the default layout in OLI software, ensuring that missing panes or libraries are restored. The Shift + Open method is recommended for quick fixes, while the reset options in OLI Studio should be used cautiously, as they may delete customized settings. Always save your custom configurations before proceeding with a reset.
