Overview
The OLI Network License Manager (also referred to as the OLI Network Security Provider) includes an Event Log feature that records license activity and error reports, which are critical for diagnostics and support. When contacting OLI for technical assistance, providing this log allows our support team to assess licensing behavior with precision and resolve issues more efficiently.
This article outlines the steps required to access, generate, and share the Event Log.
Accessing the Event Log

Launch the OLI Network License Manager (OLI Network Security Provide) application.

Navigate to the Event Log tab.
At this stage, you may encounter an empty log if events have not yet been captured.
Populating the Event Log
To initiate log capture:

Click the Start button in the Event Log section.

A system prompt will appear with the following message:
“Would you like to contact support?”
You have two options:

Click Yes
The logs will be sent directly to OLI. You will be prompted to provide contact details and a description of the issue. This option ensures the fastest support response. You can also save the contact file and send it separately. -
Click No
If you prefer to review or send the log manually, proceed with the steps below to save the log file locally.
Saving the Event Log Manually

In the dialog window that appears:

Enter a file name. Please include your company name and key ID to help us match the log to your license.

Choose a save location on your system.

Click Save.

The log will be saved as a plain text (.txt) file.
Submitting the Log to OLI Support
Once saved, please send the log file to OLI Technical Support via email or through your existing support ticket. Including contextual details, such as the issue encountered and any relevant system changes, will aid our response.
