What's New for Analyzers 2.0?

The following is a list of new features for the OLI Analyzes 2.0

Return to Support Center Last Updated July 21, 2006

What's New?

  • The Lab Analyzer is no longer a separate product, it has been incorporated into both the Stream Analyzer and the Corrosion Analyzer.

  • The Mixed-Solvent-Electrolyte Thermodynamic Framework has been introduced
    • Water is no longer required to be the solvent
    • Mole fractions of solutes can now go to 1.0
    • Rigorous activity model in the non-aqueous liquid phases.

  • The Gibb's Free Energy and the Entropy for all species are now calculated and reported.

  • Graphics for plots and diagrams have been upgraded
    • OpenGL is now used as the driver for Pourbaix Diagrams. This creates presentation quality diagrams. The user also has greater control on positioning of graphic labels.
    • A secondary Y-axis was added to all plots
    • The variable selection dialog was streamlined and made more user friendly.
    • The selection of variables was moved from the plot options to its own button. This simplifies the customizing of the plots.
    • The user can not hide a survey variable in plot while keeping the variable active. This helps to clean up the plot.

  • Chemistry Model Options
    • Phase selection for solids was inverted. In version 1.x you unchecked a box to add the solid. In 2.x you uncheck the box to exclude the solid.
    • The database selection dialog is where a user can select the appropriate thermodynamic model. Only the valid databases for the selected thermodynamic model are displayed.
    • Chemistry Models built in ESP can now use used directly in the Analyzers.
      • No changes to the chemistry model are permitted via the Analyzers after selection.
      • None of the names manager features will work with imported ESP models.
    • Chemistry models built in the Analyzers can be saved for use in other OLI or Alliance programs.

  • Calculation Options
    • The calculation options were combined into a single button for each stream.
    • Chemical Diagrams, previously only available in the Corrosion Analyzer were moved to the Stream Analyzer.
    • Survey Calculations now have the option for dual surveys to vary the independent variables separately or together.

  • Program Options
    • Files created in version 1.x will be automatically backed up to a saved file name before processing in version 2.x
    • Files can be automatically saved every X minutes.
    • Time expensive calculations (such as heat capacity) can be enabled or disabled for all objects. The option can be over-written locally for each calculation.
